As Part of the Michael Bierut 100 Days Workshop at the Yale School of Art. Every day for 100 days, Jessica Svendsen created a variation on a Josef Müller-Brockmann poster for a Beethoven concert in Zürich in 1955.
I have always loved the original poster, the geometric shapes, the movement of the page, the space and alignment just awesome. And these variations also caught my eye the first time I saw them.

The total result you can view here, Above are the original plus 5 of my favourites from Jessica’s collection.

TNSJ (National Theatre Saint John) or Teatro Nacional São João are from what google translate tells me are a theatre company from portugal. The above are posters from various productions they put on over the years. I was instantly blown away by them. They have a modern feel yet look to be made almost entirely from handmade elements. I would love to tell you more about these guys and who designed these posters but unfortunately google translator is pretty crappy but the good news is they are working on a english version of the site will be up soon.

So for now check out their site here and even though you may not be able to read much of it but you can definitely enjoy the amazing artwork posted around their site.

Another poster I found on FPO, this one was made by Excuses Design Collective, Unfortunately unike the Ligature, Loop & Stem Poster this poster will probably not hang on my walls at home. Only 4 were made and i can understand why. Using bookbinding glue and a hell of a lot of sprinkles they created these eyecatching posters. Wanting to “ooze” summer they wanted to ilustrate “the ridiculousness of the song (Katy Perry’s “California Gurls) by setting the line “We Freak in My Jeep” in type that was inspired by the Gutenberg Bible, and then taking it a step further and flocking it with nonpareil sprinkles.”

You can check it out on there site here Or on FPO

Ligature, Loop & Stem Poster is made by the guys butterlabel, this poster aims to educate and entertain and does both very well. The for the very responible price of $75 USD, its no surprise its sold out. This poster would be a awesome addition to any wall and with the aussie dollar doing so well at moment im gonna keep my eyes peeled for them to come into stock again.

Heres the guys and Butterlabel talking about there work on FPO

“Aside from being a purely creative outlet devoid of typical restrictions (such as clients), one of the goals for anything produced under the Ligature, Loop & Stem moniker is that it educates as well as inspires. This piece scratched an itch for us in wanting to have a quick reference for letterform characteristics — in essence, so we can all speak the same language when talking about type.”
