Chris Silas Neal is a very talented illustrator working out of The Pencil Factory in Brooklyn New York. Featured in everything and anything from magazines to books to posters. The above images are some of his more commercial work from book covers and concert posters. Chris also teaches illustration at Pratt Institute.

The posters above are by Shigeo Fukuda, who was a sculptor and graphic artist/designer from tokyo japan born in 1932 and passed in 2009.

Using simple graphics and swiss design influenced, his work almost always has a strong, clear and concise message.  Very different from many other designers who were in japan at the time.

The first picture “Victory 1945” is probably his most famous work and received the grand prize at the 1975 Warsaw Poster Contest.

Fukuda was also the first Japanese designer to be inducted into the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame in New York City

This shiny new swag is from the Brand New Conference in New York that was on earlier this month. If you were lucky enough to attend this awesome event you would have been able to get your hands on these hot little items. Otherwise you can now purchase these online, although they only have XL in the tshirts left 😦 . These would be nice a xmas present for any graphic designer out there. and yes im not totally in love with the whole money sucking merch thing but hey, they got me on this one !!

If two of your favourite things are helvetica and New York then you’ll probably enjoy the intro for the HBO show “How to make it in America”.
For me it sums up the look and feel of the show and i dont think they could’ve found a better theme song.

Made by some of the same guys who made Encourage. It definitely worth checking out and I cant wait for the second season.
